Viticultural Research Roadshow to be held June 18th
FRESNO, CA - 6/15/09 -
The 2nd Annual Viticultural Research Roadshow and Educational Wine Tasting Event will be held this year on Thursday, June 18th, 2009 at the Armenian Community Center in Fresno. Dr. Robert Wample, the retiring director of the Viticulture and Enology Research Center at CSU, Fresno, will be honored for his work in the industry.
This event allows for researchers from UC Davis, UC Kearney, UC Cooperative Extension and Fresno State to interface with grape growers in the San Joaquin Valley and present their findings in several areas of the Viticulture arena. Last year's event was a success by all measures, and brought positive feedback from industry. A question and answer period will follow each presentation, giving growers a chance to have their concerns addressed.
Following the program will be an educational wine tasting and reception. California wine will be blindly tasted along side its retail price-point competition from other regions of the world. This gives growers the opportunity to taste their product and see how it stacks up against others, and talk about ways to improve.
Hors d'ouerves will be served at 5:00 pm, and we will also congratulate Dr. Wample on his many years of service and work on the grape industry's behalf.
